I'm a bit meh on Nak but at 1million or even a bit under on a one way, he'd be able to fill in nicely in the bottom pairing. Yes, they need to put an offer in front of Johnny that starts with a 7. This trying to keep him under Gio is ridiculous.

Is there anything at all Gaudreau could do? Does he just take the qualifying offer and hope for an offer sheet next year? Would he even be eligible for an offer sheet
next year?Is that even something he can do? If he decides to not sign anything this year, does that even burn a year that the Flames own him?

He would never sign his qualifying offer, he would either not play at all or play somewhere in Europe for a year
